Interested in a fall internship at ICPR? Here's your chance!
ICPR Fall 2011 Internship Program
Interns play an integral role at ICPR. Our small staff size offers interns the opportunity to make meaningful contributions and gain experiences in a variety of areas. Interns at ICPR have assisted with essential research projects on voter guides, political contributors and judicial campaigns. During this session interns will work on City of Chicago & Cook County Redistricting, gathering data for the Sunshine Database, research expenditure and contributions to candidates, among other projects. Interns have also helped put together a variety of meetings, seminars, presentations.
During the fall 2011 session interns will work on researching and coding campaign expenses and contributions based on campaign disclosure reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the political process and an interest in Illinois politics. Candidates should possess excellent research, writing and interpersonal skills.
ICPR is flexible and willing to work around other obligations though we ask that interns be available for at least 15 hours each week for the duration of the 15 week internship. The internship is set to begin September 6th and end the week of December 16th. Generally we are able to provide a modest stipend to interns for their work or course credit can be earned upon approval of instructor. Interns will be supervised by Nelly Viramontes but will have the opportunity to work closely with all ICPR staff members and interns.
Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to Nelly Viramontes at Nelly@ilcampaign.org. The deadline for consideration for this internship is August 5th.
