Dear Friend of Reform

December 19, 2006

Dear Friend of Reform:

This is a busy time of year for all of us, even campaign reform organizations. It seems like we're never far away from an election season, an issue briefing about campaign contributions or even the indictment of a public official.

I hope you'll take a moment from your busy schedule to consider making a contribution of any size to the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform. Thanks to the help of a growing number of individual contributors, we have become a strong voice for change in Illinois. With your support, we can continue to work for more honest and fair elections and government.

Because you are on our e-mail list, you already are familiar with our work.

Maybe you signed up because you use the Sunshine Database to get trusted information about who is funding candidates and how they are using their money.

Or you appreciate the updates and analysis you get from Spotcheck, our electronic newsletter.

Perhaps you wanted to help us persuade television stations to do a better job of covering campaigns and opening airwaves to candidate debates and interviews.

Maybe you visit our web site to learn more about proposals to stop "pay to play" practices in Illinois government, to limit campaign contributions, to encourage more open government or to bring voluntary public financing to Supreme Court elections.

Whether you make a financial contri! bution or not, we do appreciate your interest in improving politics an d government in Illinois. With your support, we can continue to make a difference.

This link will show you how to make a contribution through our website.

The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. But don't contribute because it could be a tax deduction. Whether you can donate $10 or $1000, please give in order to help us to continue our work in 2007 and into the future.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Canary
Director, ICPR
