"It is not only the pandering to big contributors that is wrong, it is the huge amount of time wasted by candidates, including incumbents, on raising money, time that should be spent becoming more knowledgeable about the many complex issues."
- U.S. Senator Paul Simon
ICPR needs your help to clean up Illinois politics.
While much of ICPR’s budget is supported by foundations,
most reform work cannot be funded by foundation grants. Your support
enables us to continue our work for the fair and honest government
the citizens of Illinois deserve.
You can support ICPR by making a tax-deductible donation:
• Online. To make a secure donation through PayPal, click
the button below and follow the instructions.
• By mail. Click here to download a mail-in
form.
• In addition to financial resources, ICPR is always seeking
material donations of newer computers and office furniture. Please
contact Suzanne Roth for further information.
Generous support from individuals like you has enabled ICPR to:
- Provide voters and journalists with the Sunshine Database
of campaign finance information for Illinois and Cook County.
- Create an on-line voters guide.
- Spearhead passage of the most sweeping ethics reforms of
a generation.
- Conduct extensive research on contributions and expenditures.
- Profile top donors to candidates for public office in Illinois.
- Build coalitions of advocates for campaign and government
reforms.
But so much more needs to be done to get special interest money
out of Illinois politics. With your help we'll continue to work
for limits on special interest campaign contributions, the public
financing of judicial races, banning contributions from those seeking
or holding government contracts, monitoring the implementation of
current laws, advocating for improved media coverage of politics
and policy issues, and expect fair and ethical practices from elected
officials at all levels of government.
