*2003-2004 Campaign Finance Data Now On-Line
ICPR and the Sunshine Project have updated the most complete electronic
database of Illinois campaign finance. The Sunshine Database contains
campaign receipt and expenditure information, through the end of
2003, for challengers and incumbent state legislators, appellate
judges and statewide executive officers at ilcampaign.org. Find
summaries of each candidate's finances, profiles of top donors,
on-line data for candidates who filed disclosure reports on paper,
and more. This year, ICPR is also including information on federal
candidates, including candidates for both parties' U.S. Senate nominations.

*Campaign Ad Spending on Track to Set Record
The Alliance for Better Campaigns projects record spending on TV
ads by federal candidates in 2004. Revenues at broadcast TV stations
for political ads are expected to reach as high as $1.6 billion
during this presidential election year. Total revenue in 2000 was
$771 million. During the Iowa caucuses, Democratic candidates spent
in excess of $100 per voter on TV spots, and while Illinois will
not likely see that rate of broadcast advertising, campaign TV spending
in Illinois may reach $67 million. For more information, click
here.
