Connecticut Passes Campaign Finance Reform
Like Illinois, Connecticut is reeling from a host of political corruption scandals.  Unlike Illinois, Connecticut has responded with the most comprehensive new campaign finance reforms in the nation, including public financing for statewide and legislative contests.  It just goes to show that where there is a political will, there is a way.  For more information, including links to news articles, see ICPR's blog, The Race is On.

Set Your VCRs this Saturday for The Most Powerful Voice in America
ICPR's media conference was filmed by the Illinois Channel, and so Chicago area residents can watch the whole thing when CAN TV21 broadcasts the event this Saturday, December 3 at 8 pm. Or, tune in to CAN TV 19 on Thursday, December 8 at 9 am.  You can download the conversation between Caron Marin and Newt Minow here, or read Carol Marin's commentary on broadcaster's role in covering elections.
