The Task Force, chaired by former ICPR Director Cindi Canary and whose members include former Assistant US Attorney Sergio Acosta, Ald. *Redistricting Process and Outcome

Despite pledging to open the ward remapping process to the public, Chicago aldermen approved the city's new map Jan. 19, before the public had an opportunity to view the final proposal or even before the City Clerk had a chance to post it online.

"Throughout the process, Chicagoans from all different backgrounds and wards asked the City Council to let them weigh in on the final proposal before it was passed," ICPR director Brian Gladstein said. "It appears those requests fell on deaf ears."
