Harris Family Members

The Harris family includes father Sheldon Harris and sons Andrew and David Harris. Sheldon Harris was appointed as a Cook County Judge and ran unsuccessfully to retain his judgeship in the March 2002 primary. He was slated by the Democratic Party of Illinois and was reported to have received staff help on his campaign from the DPI. Andrew Harris, who resides in Europe, is a songwriter and musician. Several anti-hate watchdog groups have cited the music that Andrew Harris has produced and performed as promoting hatred and advocating white supremacy and violence against women, according to reports by the Chicago Tribune. Upon learning the nature of Andrew Harris's music, Lisa Madigan reported that she would contribute $25,000 to an organization that fights intolerance and bigotry. From 1993 through December 31, 2002, the members of the Harris family gave $51,500 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, all of which was contributed to Democrats.
