Hawthorne-Mellody, Inc. was an animal leasing and breeding business and a dairy farm. John F. Cuneo, a Chicago businessman, philanthropist, and farmer, founded the company. The Cuneo Museum & Gardens now stands on the site of the former Hawthorne-Mellody Farms.
