Prosecutors have begun questioning Rod Blagojevich, five days after the former governor took the witness stand at his corruption retrial.
As his attorneys wrapped up their questioning this afternoon, Blagojevich testified that the day before he was arrested on Dec. 9, 2008, he thought he was ready to conclude a political deal in which he would appoint Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan to the Senate in exchange for her father, House Speaker Michael Madigan, supporting the governor’s legislative agenda.
