IL State Medical Society

The Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) is a professional organization that represents the interests of over 16,000 physicians. The ISMS legislative agenda is focused on the reform of Illinois medical malpractice laws, especially to cap jury verdicts. They continue to represent physicians, health maintenance organizations, health insurance companies, hospitals and other healthcare professionals in matters pertaining to health care decisions and the regulation of licensed physicians.
