Whitney Wisnasky-Bettorf, of O'Fallon, scored two victories in a row late last month.

First she won the Republican nomination for the St. Clair County Board of Review. Then, a day later, the Illinois Supreme Court ruled in her favor, reversing two lower court decisions that had kept the O'Fallon real estate broker's name off the November 2010 ballot for a seat on the County Board of review.

State Senator Steve Landek (D-Bridgeview) reportedly offered his primary opponent a job if he would drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination in the 12th District.

The offer came during a meeting Landek had with Raul Montes Jr. on Dec. 29 in the village of Bridgeview's suite at Toyota Park. In addition to being a state senator, Landek is the mayor of Bridgeview.
